An engine work shop manual is a booklet which gives a detailed
description of how to repair a vehicle, dismantle parts and rebuild
components. Earlier it used to be
booklets and now there are either CDs or DVDs which tells us how major
components are used over super models and how an engine or transmission has
been used in many vehicles.
Many of the companies are not willing
to sell these in the market and lot of duplicate or third party manuals are
also available. But none of them are detailed and give you very vogue
information. They tell you how to
dismantle a part but don’t tell you how to re-join it. This leaves the user in
great frustration and they want to give a desperate try to a genuine manual.
For example Nissan np200 service manual recommends drive belts and timing belts to be changed every 90000 km or 48
months whichever is earlier. Engine oil filter should be a genuine Nissan
engine oil filter or anything of the same quality. The cooling system has to be
changed every 90000 km or 36 months whichever is earlier. Air cleaner filter
has to be cleaned every 15000 km or 24 months.
Chassis and body maintenance:
Except for brake fluid and locks,
hinges and hood latch and Air-conditioner filter it maintains the rest of the
body parts under this category to be inspected regularly.
Brake fluids should be replaced every
two years.
Locks, hinges and hood latch should be
every year.
Air-conditioner filter should be
replaced every year.
Under
severe driving conditions Nisson suggests a complete different maintenance.
Air cleaner filter has to be replaced
every 7500km or 12 months.
Locks, hinges and hood latch have to
be lubricated every 6 months or 7500 km.
Brake fluid has to be replaced every
12 months or 15000 kms.
In the same way, there are different
ways of maintainance for different driving and atmospheric conditions.
